Salem, Ohio – Kent State University at Salem Sophomores Jennifer A. Huzyak and Timothy M. Montgomery were recently selected as finalists for the Kathleen Wolf Award. The annual award is given out by Kent State University’s Department of Mathematical Science. The award honors one outstanding Core Mathematics student each year.
The award is in memory of the late Mrs. Kathleen Wolf, a longtime developmental mathematics instructor and coordinator who set a very high standard for achievement. Finalists received a certificate and cash award.
Virginia Darrah, award coordinator, said the selection committee was impressed with Huzyak and Montgomery’s exemplary attitude, effort and achievement shown during their Core Mathematics courses. The Kent State Salem students were two of five candidates selected from a large pool of nominees. Anuradha Vadrevu, Lecturer, Mathematical Sciences nominated both.
