A one-hour, Intellectual Property Protection workshop is being offered by Kent State Salem Workforce Development and Continuing Studies at Kent Salem City Center, 230 North Lincoln Avenue (downtown Salem) in the second floor library on Wednesday, November 10 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Registration begins at 11:45 a.m.

This program will provide an overview of Intellectual Property (IP) protection including types of patents (domestic and foreign), copy rights, trade secrets, and trademarks.  

Speaker, Shawna L'Italien is a partner with Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd. in their Salem law office. Ms L'Italien practices primarily in the area of business and commercial law and also works with trademarks, business financing, real estate law, and employment law. In May of 2010 Ms. L'Italien was the Athena award recipient from the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and Youngstown Vindicator.
