Kent State Salem Offers Informational Night Thursday for Prospective Students

Those Who Attend Can Apply for Free

Salem, OhioKent State University at Salem is holding an informational night Thursday at 6 p.m. Prospective students are invited to learn about the campus' 28 local degrees and how they can start more than 236 Kent State University bachelor's degrees. An optional majors fair will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. in the student lobby.

"Not only can students learn about the campus' degree programs, but this is also an opportunity for them to apply for free," said Public Relations Coordinator Ruth McCullagh. "Students will also be given tours of the campus, including tours of our new, multi-million-dollar Health and Sciences Wing."

In addition to offering its students a new, state-of-the-art facility, McCullagh said that the campus has numerous scholarship opportunities including an honors program, where qualified students can receive awards ranging from $1,500 to $2,000 per semester.

"With tuition less than $5,300 a year, Kent State Salem, and its sister campus, Kent State University at East Liverpool are two smart options for students," McCullagh said. "Couple our low tuition and local degrees with our outstanding faculty and it's a win-win situation all the way around."

McCullagh said that between the campuses 217 faculty members are employed, many of whom have the highest degree in their field. Nearly 50 percent of the full-time faculty members hold doctorate degrees in their field.

The Kent State Columbiana County campuses, which include Kent State at East Liverpool and Kent State at Salem, are home to more than 3,500 students. For more information or to reserve a space, please visit or call 330-332-0361.
