Holidays A Time For Tubas
Posted Dec. 10, 2012
ASHTABULA - Tubas, euphoniums, and other members of the tuba family will gather at Kent State University at Ashtabula Dec. 15 to play music of the holiday season under the direction of Chris Sherman at the second annual Merry TubaChristmas.
The concert begins at 2 p.m. in the KSUA auditorium. "This is an open invitation for tuba players from throughout the region to get together, sight-read music they have never seen before and in a couple of hours, put on a Chtistmas concert, Sherman said. "It's a really cool event."
All of the county's high school bands will be involved in the concert.
Those wishing to play should bring their instruments and register for $5 at 10:30 a.m. Rehearsal will begin at 11 a.m. in the KSUA auditorium. Music will be available for $18. Hats and scarves will be available.
