Join in Remembrance of the Holocaust - Wednesday April 27

Arbeit Macht Frei - translation - Work Brings Freedom

 

This year, Holocaust Remembrance Day will be observed at Kent State University at East Liverpool on Wednesday, April 27th.  The focus of the day will be the true story of the Bielski Brothers,  who rescued approximately 1200 Jews from the ghettos and kept them alive in the forest for nearly four years.   It was the largest rescue of Jews by Jews during World War II.

 

April 27,  12 noon in the Quiet Study Lounge -
An A &E History Channel documentary will be shown on the Bielski Brothers with a short discussion period following.

April 27, 4:30 p.m. in Room 115, Main Building -
The movie,  Defiance, starring Daniel Craig will be shown with discussion following.    Defiance is the popular movie version of the true story of the Bielski Brothers.

Light refreshments will be served.

Students and community members are encouraged to attend this event.
