African American Read-In to be Held February 8th

Area residents are invited to join Kent State University-Salem students and faculty and over a million readers nationwide in the 23rd National African American Read-In being held across the country throughout February. Over a million readers of all ethnic groups, from 50 states, the District of Columbia, the West Indies, and African countries have participated in past read-ins.
The Salem Campus Read-In will take place on Wednesday, February 8th from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in the Library. The event celebrates African American history and culture and promotes literacy. Participants will read aloud from the writings of African American and African authors.
The Read-In is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). The KSU Salem Library and the Diversity Advisory Committee are the local hosts.
