Sealed Bids due October 4th for New Health and Sciences Wing

Posted Sep. 23, 2010

Sealed bids are due October 4th for Kent State University at Salem’s renovations for its new Health and Sciences Wing. A pre-bid meeting was held recently for contractors interested in the renovations. Above, Project Architect Brian Miner from Hasenstab Architects, Inc. leads the group through the proceedings. Kent State Salem’s new Health and Sciences Wing is scheduled to open for the fall semester of 2011. Construction is scheduled to begin late this fall. The multi-million dollar project will convert the campus’ under-utilized gymnasium into a learning space. Renovating approximately 16,000 square feet will accommodate health and science teaching programs, offices and a new bookstore.  A floor will be added within the gym volume to allow an additional 9,000 square feet of future lab and classroom space.
