The Psychology of Nature

Kent State Stark psychology students, Corey Connare, Rachel Pearson and Troy Williams, have partnered with Stark Parks to examine the relationship between nature and psychology. Pick up some information about Stark Parks and the students’ projects when you visit their table in the Campus Center.
Group Hike at Sippo Lake

Enjoy an informal group hike at Sippo Lake Park (weather permitting). Take advantage of an opportunity to get out and enjoy nature. Meet up with the students at the entrance parking lot to Exploration Gateway, located at 12th Street NW, Canton, OH 44708.
Hike-a-Hundred Season Kickoff

Join the Hike-a-Hundred Club for the kickoff event to the hiking season. Bring interested friends and family, meet other club members, talk to Stark Parks’ staff and sponsors, and add to your total mileage! Come at 10 am to pick up your 2013 shirt and enjoy refreshments. Learn how important hiking is to a healthy lifestyle with nursing students from Kent State Stark. Receive free blood pressure checks, as well as information on blood sugar, depression and joint health. Everyone is invited to join the group on a two-mile hike following the event.

You’re invited to discover the new Stark Parks trail located on the grounds of Kent State Stark that connects the campus to the North Canton YMCA. Come and take a guided one-mile walk on the current loop trail, learn about the future connections and hear more about the future trail.
