Filmed Interviews with Local African American Leaders Shown

East Liverpool High School’s African American Club sponsored filmed interviews with local African American leaders on Wednesday, January 18th and Thursday, January 19th at the high school. The interviews were conducted by Kent State University East Liverpool professor Dr. Patti Swartz and were videotaped by Sherrill Shaw. The interviews were funded with grants and funds to the East Liverpool Wellsville NAACP from The Ohio Arts Council, the Fawcett Community Foundation, Kent State University East Liverpool Community Foundation, the Kent State Office of Regional Campuses, the East Liverpool-Wellsville NAACP, the Tri-State Black History Museum and private donors. Interviews shown were with Makesha West, president of the local NAACP, and Alonzo Spencer, past president of NAACP. Whitney Washington is the advisor for the African American Club.
